When wallpapering a room, we often come across places that may cause us problems.
Such places include:
- corners,
- window and door recesses,
- sockets and switches,
We will try to explain wallpapering in the above-mentioned places as simply as possible.
Wallpapering the corners
Next to the edge of the corner (about 2-3 cm), draw a vertical line and place the first piece of wallpaper along it. The boards should not be joined at the corners, this applies to concave and convex corners.
Wallpapering a window or door recess
A format is cut from the block equal to the height of the recess and adjusted to its upper end. Don’t forget to add about 3-5 cm to the length for the overlap. The width of the strip must be consistent with the width of the recess, in this case we also add a few centimeters for the overlap.
Wallpapering the surface around the socket or switch
Before you start wallpapering, turn off the electricity and remove the covers of sockets and switches. Place the wallpaper over the holes and then use a sharp knife to cut the appropriate size around the perimeter of the socket or switch. Attention! The electricity should be turned on after the glue has dried thoroughly.
Wallpapering the ceiling
Gluing the panels to the ceiling should be done by two people. The glued part of the board can be pressed, e.g. with a brush on a stick. The remaining part of the board is glued gradually, pressing with a brush or a roller with a long handle.
